The main aims of this course are to give delegates a good understanding of data analysis using Microsoft Power BI. This course includes creating visualisations using Power BI Desktop and then publishing them to the Power BI Service and learning how to share their reports and dashboards with colleagues.
“Martyn can take data from a myriad of sources, in different formats and he can make it tell a story of a business, providing insightful reports from which you can make clear informed decisions. He explains things in plain English so it’s easy to understand and implement.”
Richard Swan, Viper Marketing
Data Governance is the business practice that defines and manages strategies for people, processes and technologies to ensure that valuable data assets are formally protected and managed throughout the organisation. Data is the Common Currency of Business and Customer Interaction.
When a major plant and seed retailer launched its first data quality programme, it found that 9% of its catalogues were being sent to deceased customers. It was wasting a significant element of its marketing budget and alienating potential customers from direct marketing targeted using poor quality data. Increasingly, the internet is the place where business is transacted, where people buy and sell things, and where relationships and networks are formed. All these activities depend on the effective creation, collection, storage and use of data. Data is the foundation of informed decision making; but only when the right data is in the right place at the right time.
Power BI has been a pioneer in applying AI through capabilities such as natural language, which enables users to get answers by asking questions in plain English, or Quick Insights, which automatically finds patterns in data.Today, Microsoft are taking a major step forward in bringing AI to business intelligence and announcing several new AI features in Power BI that are available in preview.
All these new AI capabilities—pioneered in Azure and now available in Power BI—require no code. This enables all Power BI users to discover hidden, actionable insights in their data and drive better business outcomes with easy-to-use AI.
